WBCS - Preliminary
The examination is conducted in three stages — Preliminary Examination, Main Examination, and Personality Test (Interview). Through WBCS, candidates are appointed to various posts such as Deputy Collector, DSP, Commercial Tax Officer, Labour Officer, Block Development Officer, and other Group A, B, C, and D services.

The West Bengal Civil Service (WBCS) Examination is conducted by the West Bengal Public Service Commission (WBPSC) for recruitment to various prestigious administrative posts under the Government of West Bengal. The examination is held annually to select eligible candidates for Group A, Group B, Group C, and Group D services, including posts such as West Bengal Civil Service (Executive), Assistant Commissioner, Block Development Officer, Inspector of Police, and other allied services.

WBCS Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must fulfill the following eligibility conditions to apply for the West Bengal Civil Service (WBCS) Examination conducted by WBPSC.
📌 1. Nationality
The candidate must be a citizen of India.
📌 2. Educational Qualification
The candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University.
Final-year students can apply, but must produce proof of qualification at the time of document verification.
- For some technical posts, specific qualifications may be required.

Candidates must be able to read, write, and speak Bengali
Exemption: Candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali
📌 7. Medical Fitness
Candidates must be medically fit as per government standards for the respective service.
